Recruiting Case Study with Rituals Cosmetics
"Rituals Cosmetics is coming to Austria" was news that excited many women, including Recruiting Partner Roberta Borsos. She was responsible for recruiting for the luxury and lifestyle brand. There were more than 70 positions to fill between June and December 2016 in Vienna, Linz, Salzburg, Innsbruck, Klagenfurt, St. Pölten, and Wiener Neustadt.

Ms Bussee, the expansion into a new market is a great challenge for any HR department. Could you please describe how your team approached it?
We entered the Austrian market in September 2016 by opening 7 shops in 4 months. Many candidates had not heard of Rituals before and did not have a chance to form their own impression by visiting a shop themselves. That made the role of the recruiter especially important.
epunkt along with Roberta and her team were our on-site brand evangelists, who introduced the candidates to both the products and Rituals as an employer. Therefore, a reliable local partner was critical for filling the positions well. epunkt's pre-selection was major factor in our success in filling all the jobs with excellent candidates.
What was decisive when it came to choosing epunkt for this large project?
Rituals in a company in the beauty and lifestyle brand that offers its customers exceptional products along with especially high levels of customer service. We were looking for a partner who understands us and is able to communicate our values. The appropriate level of professionality, empathy and intuition, and vigour were the most important qualities that led us to epunkt.
What is especially important to Rituals when recruiting new employees? What values or qualities play an especially large role in their selection?
Customer service and the creation of an extraordinary shopping experience are of the utmost importance. Therefore, we look for people who love working with customers and who represent our brand with passion as brand evangelists.

We place great importance on openness and respect, both towards our customers and each other. Our team spirit and the opportunities for advancement are things that speak for us.
Our growth means that some employees have the chance to grow, both within the organization in Austria and also abroad. Our favorite success stories come from within our own ranks, when a customer adviser advances to be a shop manager or area manager.
Ms Borsos, what was special about this project for you?
I've been an enthusiastic customer of Rituals Cosmetics ever since I discovered them during a vacation in Croatia. I was thrilled when I heard that Rituals was coming to Austria in 2016! This was an opportunity for me to combine work and pleasure.
The intense collaboration was marked by dynamism, professionality, and warmth. The special thing about this project was filling a large number of positions in a short period of time. It was important that candidates not just love sales and consulting, but also that they identified completely with the brand and were able to share this passion with customers. Thus it was both important to me and very challenging to deliver a large quantity of excellent candidates.
I'll hold this successful project in my heart forever. Every time I go to a Rituals shop, I am so happy to see the ladies and gentlemen we recruited and how much joy and commitment they bring to customer service. I am happy and grateful to have been able to accompany the market launch and delighted at the great success of this globally expanding company.

Our customer, Rituals Cosmetics, is an internationally renowned luxury brand that turns daily routines into special moments. This distinctive concept was introduced to Austria in 2016. To help with the store openings, we searched for committed sales people who were able to express inner and outer beauty as customer advisers as well as shop managers, area retail managers, and HR positions.
