Case Study: Raiffeisen Software Borrows an epunkt Team Member for 9 Months
Raiffeisen Software GmbH is the software company that belongs to the Raiffeisen Group Austria. It is one of the largest IT service providers in Austria with 750 employees and €107 million turnover (2016).
epunkt recruiting partner Birgit Bajak spent 9 months on Raiffeisen Software’s recruiting team. Andreas Siquens, Head of HR, reports on their work together.
What were your reasons for having an external recruiter working in-house with you?
We had a temporary spike in recruiting that we would not have been able to handle with our team in a reasonable timeframe.
What other solutions did you consider? Why did you decide to work with epunkt?
We thought about simply letting other things wait while we concentrated on recruiting. Another solution would have been working with a recruiter on a traditional basis. This approach would have been more expensive, though, and demanded more time and effort on our part.
What concerns did you have before Birgit began working with you?
The main factor for success, besides recruiting skills – which we take as a given working with epunkt – is the personality of the person doing the job.
Work with the client and the internal work with the HR team depend mainly on that.
How long did it take before Birgit could work independently as part of your team?
That went very rapidly. Birgit is a recruiting professional and a very winning and open person. Birgit was more than 80% productive within a few short days.
What did colleagues think of Birgit’s presence?
The HR team was very positive. On one hand, Birgit took a load off their shoulders. On the other hand, Birgit made her contribution in a way that the HR saw her as an internal team member very quickly.
Our internal customers were a little surprised in the beginning, but that dissipated quickly. The surprise was certainly bigger when Birgit departed.
What were the advantages of having an external recruiter on your team?
In addition to the workload reduction, I saw this as a chance to professionalize, and I used it. Employees recruited together with Birgit and had the opportunity to gain a new perspective.
What were the factors that in your view made a particular contribution to the success of this project?
First of all, the trusting and professional collaboration with epunkt, and in particular – I am happy to repeat myself here – Birgit as a person.
Under which circumstances would you use this service again or recommend it to others?
When you need help with recruiting, especially on account of tight resources. Having a recruiting as a temporary worker is also a terrific service when developing a recruiting team or working to professionalize it.
